Finland Opens 2025 Seasonal Work Permit Applications for Nigerians and Other Foreign Nationals

The Finnish Immigration Service has officially opened applications for the 2025 Finland Seasonal Work Permit, offering foreign nationals temporary employment opportunities in agriculture, forestry, and tourism sectors.

The permit enables migrant workers to engage in seasonal jobs for up to nine months within a 12-month period, supporting Finland’s labour needs while providing international work experience.

Types of Finland Seasonal Work Permits
The Finnish Immigration Service offers two permit options based on the length of employment:

1. Seasonal Work Visa (Up to 3 Months)
Applicants from visa-required countries must apply at a Finnish embassy before entering Finland.
Visa-exempt citizens can directly apply for a Certificate for Seasonal Work from the Finnish Immigration Service.
2. Residence Permit for Seasonal Work (3–9 Months)
Suitable for employment lasting between three and nine months.
Applicants must secure this permit before traveling to Finland.
The application process may take up to 90 days, so early submissions are strongly recommended.

Eligibility Requirements for Applicants
To qualify for the Finland Seasonal Work Permit, applicants must meet the following criteria:

Signed employment contract from a Finnish employer in agriculture, forestry, or tourism.
Minimum wage of €1,430 per month (approximately ₦2.2 million), unless otherwise specified by a collective agreement.


Proof of accommodation in Finland, meeting the country’s health and safety standards.
Complete and accurate submission of all required documents to avoid delays.
Application Process for the Finland Seasonal Work Permit
Step 1: Secure a Job Offer

Obtain a job offer and legally binding employment contract from a Finnish employer.
Step 2: Prepare Required Documents

Valid passport
Signed employment contract
Proof of accommodation meeting Finland’s health and safety standards
Step 3: Choose the Appropriate Permit

Seasonal Work Visa for up to 3 months
Residence Permit for Seasonal Work for 3–9 months
Step 4: Submit Your Application
